Prior to entering private practice, Jennifer worked as a therapist at Shelterhouse of Midland and Gladwin Counties and is a Certified Trauma Treatment Specialist, while Tom provided counseling at Ocean Township, NJ Dept. of Human Services as well as Ocean Township High School and specializes in grief, loss, and couples counseling. Together, their professional experience includes: individual counseling, depression, mental health issues, life transitions, cultural lifestyles (religious, racial, sexual), grief and loss, trauma, addictions, eating disorders, relationships, stress management, abuse/sexuality, interpersonal violence, social issues, crisis intervention, group and family therapy, adults, adolescents, children, and aging. Additional training includes crisis intervention/psychological first aid, working with military veterans, and issues related to human trafficking. Jennifer is trained in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an effective approach with a number of therapeutic applications. She is also an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) and a Certified Trauma Treatment Specialist (CTTS).

Tom and Jennifer share a holistic counseling approach drawing mainly from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Interpersonal Cognitive Therapy, but it is not limited to the interventions connected by these theories. Change is dependent on your work and ours, so while it is impossible to guarantee specific results, we will work together to achieve the best possible outcomes. What we can guarantee is that you will be met with compassion, acceptance, understanding, and support through whatever issues or challenges you may be facing.
