Today you are one step closer to a new you where you feel empowered and on a positive path to growth and well-being .
As therapists, our goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're just ready to move in a new direction in your life, we look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
A Note About Counseling...
Many people hesitate to see a counselor because they feel that no one can understand their particular set of circumstances. Others may feel that the issues with which they struggle are not "serious" enough to seek professional help in dealing with them. Still others may view therapy as a sign of weakness or personal failure. Sadly, all too often such mistaken beliefs prevent people from taking positive action to improve their emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being.
Seeking counseling is a sign of strength, not weakness. It is a signal that we have made a decision to take control of issues or problems in our lives, rather than letting them control us. Working with a therapist can be a great way to gain new perspectives, explore new options and solutions that may have eluded us, and find ways of getting "unstuck" from situations in which we may have felt helpless.
The therapeutic environment gives us an opportunity to be ourselves, in privacy, without judgment or ridicule. It allows us to discuss what troubles us honestly, openly, and confidentially. At New Pathways, we view counseling as a collaboration between the therapist and client, who work together to understand issues, clarify thoughts and feelings, establish goals, and find ways to achieve a better quality of life.
No problem is too small or too unique for an individual to potentially benefit from counseling. If it troubles us, it is worth discussing with a therapist. Whatever your own reasons for considering counseling, please remember that you are not alone.
At New Pathways, we believe that counseling is a collaborative journey toward increased understanding of oneself and a healthier self-acceptance. We believe you have within you the answers, together we will work to find them.
